Bio

I am a Tenured Associate Professor of Information Systems and Technology in the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business at Duquesne University, where I serve as Managing Director of the Viragh Institute for Business Ethics (VIBE) and hold the PwC Alumni Faculty Fellowship (previously awarded the Inaugural David Warco Faculty Fellowship, 2021–2024). I am also a Faculty Policy Fellow at Duquesne's Grefenstette Center for Ethics in Science, Technology, and Law, representing the Center and Duquesne University in the NIST AI Consortium, and a U.S. Department of State Fulbright Specialist (2026–2029). In addition, I serve as Affiliate Faculty in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University with the Center for Computational Analysis of Social and Organizational Systems (CASOS) and the Center for Informed Democracy & Social-cybersecurity (IDeaS).

I received my Ph.D. from The George Washington University School of Business. My research focuses on AI agent behavior and low-credibility information on social media, algorithmic and cognitive biases, healthcare information transparency and pharmaceutical compliance (Physician Payments Sunshine Act), online user-generated content and rating manipulation, and technology ethics and privacy on digital platforms. My work has been published in premier journals including Journal of Management Information Systems (FT Top 50), Decision Support Systems, Information & Management, IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, Internet Research, PLoS ONE, and IEEE Computer.

In scholarly leadership, I serve as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Business and Society 360 book series (Emerald Publishing, co-editing the 8th volume on Business and Society in the 4th Industrial Revolution: Technology and AI), Associate Editor and Guest Editor (Special Issue on Agentic AI and Trusted Digital Commerce Ecosystems) for Information & Management, Area Editor (AI & Management Science) for Computational and Mathematical Organization Theory, Academic Editor for PLoS ONE, and Guest Associate Editor for Electronic Commerce Research and Applications. I also serve as Conference Co-Chair for the Workshop on e-Business (WeB 2025, 2026) and China Summer Workshop on Information Management (CSWIM 2027), and elected VP of Operations for AIS SIG eBiz.

At Duquesne, I am the founder and leader of the IST Mentorship Program, connecting students with senior technology leaders and CIOs. I teach Business Information Systems and SAP-certified Business Intelligence at the undergraduate level, as well as Behavioral Analytics with Visualization and AI Systems for Business at the graduate (MBA/MS) level, and have been honored with the School of Business Excellence in Teaching Award (#1 teacher, 2025) and the ISCAP Data Analytics Distinguished Paper Award (2025) for empirical research evaluating Generative AI versus programming tools in analytics education.
